Fitzpatrick Hall

From Tradition to Innovation

Centrally located on Notre Dame’s campus, Fitzpatrick Hall of Engineering and Cushing Hall of Engineering are contiguous spaces that feature:

  • engineering teaching and research laboratories, classrooms and computer clusters, study spaces, and offices for graduate students
  • Office of the Dean of Engineering (on the second floor)
  • administrative offices for four departments: Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering

Engineering Innovation Hub

On the first floor of Fitzpatrick Hall, the 10,000-square-foot Engineering Innovation Hub is dedicated to advanced manufacturing and filled with high-tech tools, manufacturing stations, and assembly and collaboration space and computing resources for students, faculty, and the regional manufacturing community.

This marquee facility brings together leading-edge technology and expertise for an unparalleled student experience. Integrated with engineering research and coursework, the Engineering Innovation Hub helps prepare Notre Dame students to devise novel solutions to practical and meaningful problems and take product solutions from concept to realization.

The Engineering Innovation Hub also serves as outreach to the regional manufacturing community, proving local companies with access to technology and expertise. The facility is associated with iNDustry Labs , the Notre Dame unit established in 2019 by an economic development grant from the Lilly Endowment.
