Fitzpatrick Hall of Engineering and Cushing Hall

These two contiguous buildings in the heart of campus feature engineering classrooms and research laboratories as well the Office of the Dean; several departmental offices; faculty and graduate student offices; and study and workspace for students.

Hessert Laboratory for Aerospace Research and Hessert Laboratory at White Field

More than 84,000-square-feet of research space spans these two buildings . They feature 19 major high-speed wind tunnels that generate the near-flight conditions for Notre Dame’s groundbreaking work in aerospace engineering. Hessert also features unique facilities that underpin the research agenda of the Institute for Flow Physics and Control (FlowPAC).

McCourtney Hall for Molecular Science and Engineering

Researchers in McCourtney Hall are dedicated to research in the molecular sciences and engineering, analytical sciences and engineering, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and drug discovery. Faculty and students study issues ranging from brain injuries and cancer treatment to clean water, sustainable energy, and climate change.

Multidisciplinary Engineering Research Building

The hub of biomedical research activities, this building includes laboratories for nano-mechanical characterization, biomaterials processing and characterization, cell and tissue culture, and tissue engineering. It features a tribology laboratory, tissue mechanics lab, manufacturing area, biomedical imaging lab, and histology and specimen preparation area.

Nieuwland Hall of Science

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering operates out of Nieuwland Hall of Science , where it has contiguous space with the College of Science’s Departments of Physics and Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Stinson-Remick Hall of Engineering

This 160,000-square-foot Stinson-Remick Hall features spaces and tools to empower students and faculty to fabricate everything from semiconductor electronic and optoelectronic devices to nanowires and nanotubes, to organic polymer-based materials, to microfluidic technologies for medical applications to micron-to-nanometer scale mechanical devices.

Notre Dame Core Facilities

The University supports more than 40 core facilities and research resources that are available to on-campus researchers as well as external users. These facilities are fully staffed to provide expert guidance, support, and instrumentation.
